2. Teeing Area Definition

Based on the Rules of Golf (Rule 6.2), the teeing area, also known as the tee box or teeing ground, is the designated starting point for each hole. It is a rectangular area, two club-lengths deep, with its sides defined by the outside points of two tee markers set by the course Committee. The ball must be played from within this area, though the player’s stance may be outside it. Tee markers indicate different course lengths (e.g., blue for championship, red for ladies).

Fairways: Decent grass coverage, minor weeds, visible divots, adequate drainage, and consistent mowing.
Greens: Acceptable but inconsistent speeds, mostly smooth with minor imperfections, good coverage with slight thinning, and healed ball marks.

Fair conditions balance functionality and cost, typical of mid-range courses.

7. Good Conditions

Good conditions indicate high-quality maintenance with minimal imperfections. Features include:

Tees: Consistently level, dense grass, minimal wear, and well-defined markers.
Fairways: Lush coverage, clear definition, few weeds, and good drainage.
Greens: Smooth and true, consistent medium-fast speeds, lush coverage, receptive surfaces, and clean cups.

These conditions ensure a reliable, enjoyable round with aesthetic appeal.

8. Very Good Conditions

Very good conditions offer near-flawless surfaces and meticulous upkeep. Highlights include:

Tees: Perfectly level, lush, no wear, and pristine markers.
Fairways: Carpet-like turf, immaculate appearance, effective divot repair, and superb drainage.
Greens: Exceptionally smooth, highly consistent speeds, immaculate turf, optimal firmness, and meticulous detailing.

This level delivers a premium experience, just shy of tournament standards.

9. Excellent Conditions

Excellent conditions represent the pinnacle of maintenance, akin to professional tournament standards. Features include:

Tees: Flawless, level, manicured surfaces with no wear and pristine presentation.
Fairways: Perfect lies, blemish-free, invisible divot repair, and flawless drainage.
Greens: Absolutely smooth, consistent fast speeds, perfect turf health, ideal firmness, and tournament-standard detailing.
